First Year Camper Webinar for Parents - May 18th

We are seeing a growing trend of less and less first year Scouts attending summer camp. Recently, Aaron on Socuting, came out with an article How to help Scouts who have anxiety about attending summer camp, and it inspired us to host a webinar for any parents worried about sending their Scout to camp. We’ll address conversations to have beforehand, homesickness, safety, will the have fun?, etc. If you have Scouts that are anxious about going to camp (or more likely, parents nervous about sending their Scouts away for a week) please encourage their parents to attend. Please forward the following email to them if they are on the fence about summer camp.
Dear Parents, On the fence whether or not to send your Scout to a weeklong summer camp? Many parents are. Your Scout may be anxious about being away from home for a week, and as a parent, you may have some unease about the idea too. That’s okay. We are here to help you through this new experience. We are hosting an open webinar to all parents unsure about sending their Scout to camp. Hear from a panel of experienced unit leaders and staff on how to manage this new experience for your future leader, and learn how camp will help them grow. When is it? May 18th, 6:30pm to 8:30pm
